Culver City Evening

Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City had an opening on Saturday night. We really like this gallery. It's close to our house, we like the owners, Shawn and Andrew and they have a very interesting stable of artists. On Saturday, the show featured Casey Weldon's series of paintings, "Sentimental Deprivation."

"I'll Cut You," Acrylic on Wood, 12" x 12" by Casey Weldon

These are hard-edged paintings with multiple meanings. The photographs here do not do justice to the artwork. You must see this work in person.

The smaller gallery room has paintings by Kisung Koh. This series is called "Long Live the Polar Treasure." I REALLY like these paintings. They are so peaceful.

After spending awhile at the gallery, we drove further into downtown Culver City for dinner. I'd heard about a new branch of Tentenyu Ramen opening up. We found a table, ordered the house special and were less than impressed. We've had better ramen elsewhere. Too bad, it would have been nice to have a good ramen place close by.
We strolled past the historic Culver Hotel after dinner and called it a night.
